Evonik announced the expansion of its AvailOm line of high-load omega-3 powder ingredients, to provie nutraceutical companies with three grade options that can be tailored to address the lifestyle needs of various consumer groups, including vegans and vegetarians, or those seeking out products specific to healthy aging, pregnancy, maternity, and more.
 
According to Evonik, AvailOm is the highest-load platform of omega-3 powders in its class, with 50% EPA and DHA as a free fatty acid by weight, which gives it a bioavailability more than five times higher than traditional omega-3 fish oil soft gel capsules. AvailOm is directly compressible into tablets with an oxidation resistance of more than four years, and can be developed for pure or multi-product combination supplements with omega-3 that are convenient and easy to swallow. It can also prevent side-effects associated with fish oil capsules, including undesirable smells and aftertaste, or fishy burps.

AvailOm comes in three grades: 50 High DHA Algae, which has a higher concentration of DHA derived from algal sources; 50 High DHA, which is derived from fish oil; and 50 High EPA, which is more closely associated with heart and joint health as well as reduced inflammation.
